She began her career at the Mayo Clinic followed by the Medical College of Wisconsin, where she was founder and Medical Director of the Travel Health Clinic. She is an advocate of interprofessional collaboration, having received an award for Professionalism in 2019 and being named one of Milwaukee Business Journal's "People of Know in Healthcare" in 2022. She is excited to increase access to subspecialty infectious disease care and travel health services both in person and through telemedicine for Idaho, Utah, and Alaska. One of the most rewarding aspects of this specialty is the ability to cure patients of most infections that impact human health. For infections for which we do not have a cure, we often have well-tolerated treatments that significantly improve morbidity, mortality, and overall quality of life." For difficult-to-cure infections, Dr. Sanchez enjoys building personalized treatment strategies in partnership with other specialties. Dr. Sanchez understands the importance of listening to the concerns of her patients and enjoys building personalized treatment strategies to best meet the patient's goals and needs, often in collaboration with other medical specialties. She uses challenges as opportunities to build relationships with the patients, their families, and other members of their care team. As a product of a military upbringing, Dr. Sanchez is passionate about international travel. She enjoys spending time with her family including her trophy husband and two energetic school-aged children.
